General Info

  • All anglers/passengers on the Drop-N-Back should arrive at the docks at Oregon Inlet by 5:00 AM.
  • Offshore charters leave the dock at Oregon Inlet around 5:30 AM and return around 4:00 PM.
  • On the morning of the charter, Captain Buddy Coppersmith will give you your fishing options based on what's biting and the weather.
  • The Drop-N-Back provides all bait, tackle and ice for your day's catch

Charter Size / Number of Anglers

  • The Drop-N-Back is licensed for up to 6 people.
  • Anglers of all ages are welcome.
  • We ask you to please consider the weather and sea conditions when bringing along small children.

  • Offshore Rates for the 2007 season are $1400.00 if paying by cash.
  • Payments are accepted by cash, travelers checks, Mastercard, Visa, or Discover cards

Refund Policy

  • Charters will only be cancelled by the Captain due to high winds and/or rough sea conditions.
  • Sorry, refunds cannot be made in advance.
  • Cancellations within three weeks prior to the charter will only be refunded at the Captain's discretion.

Tipping The Mate

  • The mate depends on tips.
  • "What is the appropriate tip for the mate?". Generally, it is suggested that you tip like you would in a restaurant, 15% to 20% of the charter fee. More or less depending on the service at your discretion.

What You Should Bring

  • Bring enough food and beverages to satisfy your hunger needs/urges for the days fishing.
  • Jackets (depending on the weather), sunglasses (polarized enhance your view), soft sole shoes, sunscreen, cameras and a whole bucket of smiles.
  • Your catch will be kept in the insulated fish box aboard the Drop-N-Back .
  • Remember to bring coolers to take your catch home.
Fish Cleaning Services
  • During the summer months, fish cleaning services are readily available at the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center.
  • Fish cleaning services during the winter charter season is not always guaranteed.

Oregon Inlet Marina Ships Store

  • The Oregon Inlet Ships Store opens at 5:00 AM and has most everything you forgot to bring for your day of fishing.
  • North Carolina Law prohibits the sale of alcohol before 7:00 AM Daily and 12:00 noon on Sundays.
  • In addition to Fish Cleaning Services, Oregon Inlet Fishing Center also offers Taxidermy and Photographic services.
